  1. Despite Tesla CEO Elon Musk‘s strong criticism of the downside of AI, Tesla’s AI team recently announced on Twitter the progress of Tesla’s custom supercomputer platform Dojo, indicating that the computer will go into production in July 2023 and that Dojo is expected to be one of the world’s five most advanced supercomputers by early 2024.[1]
  2. Microsoft researchers introduced a new system called ZeRO++ has been developed to optimize the training of large AI models, addressing the challenges of high data transfer overhead and limited bandwidth. ZeRO++ builds upon the existing ZeRO optimizations and offers enhanced communication strategies to improve training efficiency and reduce training time and cost.[2]
  3. Mizuho Financial Group, Japan’s second-largest bank, is rolling out generative AI to all 45,000 of its employees in the country. The AI, called “Mizuho Chatbot,” is designed to help employees with tasks such as summarizing documents, generating reports, and answering customer queries. The chatbot is powered by Google Cloud AI and is trained on a massive dataset of text and code. It is able to understand natural language and generate text that is both accurate and creative.[3]
  4. Snowflake a cloud data analytics company, is partnering with computing company Nvidia to allow customers ranging from financial institutions to healthcare and retail to build AI models using their own data.[4]
